Your DIs (Drill Instructors): Elle James and Delilah Devlin Sep 1 - 30, 2008 What you can look forward to during Plotting Bootcamp: Learn a methodical approach to harness your creativity in order to produce an in-depth plot for your next novel! Sound scary? It is-when you're staring at an empty page without a compass and a map to guide you through the novelistic jungle. Your DIs will lead you through four weeks of activities that will help strengthen your abilities to: capture the conflicts, the major plot line and subplots; deepen your knowledge of your characters; and conceive of and develop an in-depth, by-chapter description of your book. Elle and Delilah will accomplish this with weekly lessons, bi-weekly chats and daily online communication. Be ready for bivouac! Interested? Testimonials Thank you Elle,
Megan and Delilah for this wonderful class. I have learned so much
and now I feel I have the write tools to plot out my stories. I would
recommend this class to anyone interested in writing. Your hands-on
style, chats and reading the other members' postings have really helped
me to see where I have gone wrong and when I'm on the right path. Yes, I would recommend
the course to others. I learned so much. I started the boot camp with
no experience with an online writing workshop, no story and, worse,
no clear idea for one. The bootcamp forced me to make time, think,
and plot! Best of all the exercises help inspire me! So, now I have
a story to work with. Elle,
Delilah, and Megan, I especially appreciated your individual positive
and constructive feedback. You helped keep me thinking, encouraged,
and moving forward. As always I have learned
so much. I love the Roses classes and if this story makes it to contract,
you can expect a grateful acknowledgement as well! Im consistent
in recommending the Roses (from workshops to webpage) to every writer
I know. Ill see you at the next Bootcamp, and probably at a
course or two in the interim. Thanks for all the personal attention,
consideration, caring and the all around good time! Thank you Elle, Megan
and Delilah for this really great workshop. I've also used the templates
on my WiP, and have spotted a couple of gaps in the plot which I need
to work on. An informative,
useful and enjoyable bootcamp. I will definitely
recommend this to others. I
made several breakthroughs with this book because
of the workshop. Thank you Elle,
Megan and Delilah for such a worthwhile and fantastically fun course
I signed up because plotting is the thorn in my side and not
a good problem to have when youre a novelist! I feel more confident
and much more equipped to tackle plotting from here on in. I cant
emphasize how much I have loved this class and how much I have gotten
out of it! When I started, this is what I had so far I
want to write an inspirational romance. Thats it. Now
I know exactly where Im going. Taking the Plotting
Bootcamp class was the best move I could have made! I went from having
one dimensional plots that revolved soley around the hero and heroine
to having rich, interesting plots that were just plain fun to write!
I recommend taking it whether you're just starting out or you're an
experienced hand at plotting. There's something for everyone in this
terrific class! I love the Plot Outline
worksheet. I've always used something similar to this, but Delilah and
Elle, the rows of information that you track on your sheet makes planning
the story much more in-depth than the skeleton outline I've always used. Thank you so much, Elle
and Delilah, for the insights into plotting. The worksheets are really
helping me to work out my story. The
early Saturday morning chats helped tremendously as well. I've never
brainstormed a story idea out loud before. It was a good experience
and a very helpful. Thank you so much! Plotting
Bootcamp was wonderful! I learned so much. It really made a difference
in where I was going wrong. I've read and read about how to write since
I started this about, hmmm, 6 years ago, but until now I didn't realize
I wasn't asking the right questions at the right time. I wanted to offer
a great big thanks for this wonderful bootcamp. The tools are wonderful
and I'm going to utilize them going forward on every project! Great
stuff. I really enjoyed
it, and more to the point, I feel it's given me some great information
and taught me a lot.
